The 2021 Seven Apart Summit™ is a dark, luxurious maroon with a captivating ruby rim. Aromas of ripe summer berries, black currant, and black cherry lead the way, mingling with notes of mulberry, cigar box, and a hint of black walnut wood. On the palate, the wine is both rich and balanced, displaying soft tannins that slowly reveal a bold mid-palate, with flavors of black plum, blackberry, a touch of fennel, and a cherry cola finish. It’s a wine designed to linger and leave a lasting impression.

Produced from the exceptional Stags Ridge Vineyard, located on Atlas Peak at 1475 feet elevation. 2021 was a great vintage for Napa Valley. Limited winter and spring rains resulted in lower than normal yields due to smaller berries. These drought conditions, followed by a perfect summer season, allowed the winemakers to obtain optimal balanced ripeness. As a result, the wines are well-structured, full-bodied, and intensely flavored.

Crafted from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and aged in 60% new French oak, this wine was made with a meticulous approach to preserve the finest aromas. The grapes were hand-harvested between October 6th and October 19th at night to maintain their fresh integrity, with fermentation taking place at cooler temperatures. Following primary fermentation, the wine was transferred to oak barrels for malolactic fermentation, softening the texture and enhancing its complexity. It was aged for 24 months before bottling in December 2023.

Approachable upon release for lovers of young wine. Cellaring 5-8 years will reward with a slightly developed bottle bouquet. This wine is built for longevity, easily aging 25+ years. Decanting this wine 1-2 hours is recommended.
